About Go Explo
Founded in 2006 by Kenny Shibambu — a former music lecturer at Lemana and Tivumbeni Colleges of Education — Go Explo began in the township churches and rural roads of Greater Tzaneen as a small group of gifted young voices with a big calling. Two decades later, it has grown into one of South Africa's most celebrated gospel music ensembles: multi-award-winning, internationally recognised, and deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of Limpopo's Mopani District.
Our Music
Go Explo has released five projects to date, all recorded live. The most recent and most ambitious of these was recorded on 21 October 2022 live in Pretoria at the State Theatre – Opera, backed by a 9-piece band, a string quartet, and a 20-person choir — the biggest production Go Explo has ever undertaken.

Why Go Explo Exists
Go Explo exists to lend a hand in this void—turning overlooked talent into purpose and music into ministry.
Limpopo Province is rich with human resources, especially among its youth, in musical and vocal talent. But poverty and a lack of resources have long held back development in Arts & Culture. Talent has been born—and continues to be born—yet tragically passes unnoticed. Potential life-changers are wasted in shebeens, on the streets, in unfulfilled jobs, and, too often, lost to HIV/AIDS as a result of low self-worth driven by economic hardship.
